Extracurriculars:

  • Head of the dance committee 2010-2011- Organized dances, fundraisers, raffles, and various contests to raise more than $800 total throughout the 2010-2011 school year.
  • Peer Counselor 2010-2011 - Trained to be a peer counselor for 1 semester. Counseled various kids in my community and helped them deal with problems.
  • Journalist on Speakeasy paper for 1 year- 2008-2009
  • Journalist on 603 paper for 1 year 2009-2010 - Learned to write and format for a newspaper.
  • Dance committee member for 3 years 2007-2010 - Worked with a committee, worked at bake sales, counted money, and worked all dances.
  • Future Leaders Institute for 1 year, won an award. 2009-2010 Organized a benefit fashion show to raise money for girls who couldn't afford to go to prom. The program provided them with a dress, accessories, and shoes so they could attend their prom. My fashion show raised over $1000 dollars for them which sent at least 25 girls to prom.
  • Hannah Camp counselor October 2010 - Supervised a group of 5 sixth graders while camping.
  • Costume designer for Algebra 2 musical 2011 - An interesting way for me to experience what my mother experiences every day in the world of costume design.
Community Service:

  • Tavis Smilie convention Fall 2008 - Worked the convention, handed out water bottles and interviewed strangers.
  • Alameda Museum volunteer 2008-2009 - Vacuuming and dusting around exhibits.
  • Haunted House volunteer October 2010 - Helped design and run a haunted house in Hercules, CA. Acted as an executioner and scared children for hours. 
  • Hannah Camp counsler October 2010 - Supervised a group of 5 sixth graders while camping.
